The Tower of Babel

There was a time when all the people on earth spoke the same language and used the same words.

One day, some people came to a plain and settled there.

And the bricks served them as stones, and the clay served them as mortar.

Then God came down to see the city and the tower they were building. The Bible tells us that God decided to confuse their language, so that they could no longer understand one another.

From that moment, the people stopped understanding each other. They could not go on building the city, and they spread out over the whole earth.

The city was called Babel, because there God confused the language of everyone.

Today many languages are spoken in the world. When we listen to each other patiently, we can understand one another.

Let's talk: What do you do when you don't understand what someone is trying to tell you?

Listening patiently is a way of loving. Goodnight.
