The Ten Lepers and the One Who Said Thank You
Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. As he entered a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and shouted:
—Jesus, Master, have pity on us!
Jesus saw them and said:
—Go, show yourselves to the priests.
And as they went, they were cleansed of their disease.
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him. He was a Samaritan, that is, a foreigner.
Jesus asked:
—Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?
And he said to the man:
—Rise and go; your faith has made you well.
All ten were healed. But only one came back to say thank you.
Saying thank you is a way of loving. Before sleeping, you can thank God for all the good things of the day.
Let's talk: What can you thank God for today?
Thank God for this day before you sleep. Goodnight.
