The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
When the day of Pentecost came, all the disciples were together in one place.
Suddenly a sound came from heaven like the blowing of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them.
In Jerusalem there were people from many countries. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together. And everyone was amazed, because each one heard them speaking in their own language.
—Aren't all these who are speaking Galileans? —they asked—. How is it that each of us hears them speaking in our own native language, declaring the wonders of God?
That is how the Church was born, filled with the Holy Spirit.
Let's talk: How do you imagine the Holy Spirit helping you to be good?
Ask the Holy Spirit to watch over your sleep. Goodnight.
