Story 93 of 100 · Based on Acts 3:1-10
Peter, John and the Man at the Beautiful Gate
One day, Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer.
At the temple gate called Beautiful, there was a man who had been unable to walk since he was born. He was carried there every day to beg from those going into the temple.
When he saw Peter and John, he asked them for money. Peter, together with John, looked straight at him and said:
—Look at us.
The man looked at them, expecting to get something from them.
—Silver or gold I do not have —Peter said—, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!
Peter took him by the right hand and helped him up. Instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. He went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
All who saw him were filled with wonder.
Peter did not have money, but he had Jesus. And that is the best thing anyone can give.
Let's talk: Even if you have no money, what good things can you give to others?
Sharing Jesus is the best gift. Goodnight.
