God Looks for Adam and Eve
God had given the man and the woman the whole garden. He had asked only one thing of them: not to eat the fruit of one tree that stood in the middle of the garden.
One day, a serpent spoke to the woman.
—Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden? —it asked.
—We may eat from all of them —the woman answered—, except that one. God told us not to eat it or even touch it.
The serpent told her nothing would happen, that they would be more like God. The woman looked at the fruit, saw that it looked good, and ate. She gave some to her husband too, and he ate.
When they realized what they had done, they felt ashamed and hid among the trees.
Then God came looking for them.
—Where are you? —God called to the man.
—I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid —he answered—, so I hid.
God did not go away. He talked with them, and they told him what had happened. They could no longer live in the garden, but God did not leave them alone: he made clothes of animal skins and dressed them.
Even though they had made a mistake, God kept taking care of them.
Let's talk: When we make a mistake, which is better: to hide or to tell the truth?
If you made a mistake today, you can tell God: he always looks for you with love. Goodnight.
