The Widow and the Two Coins
Jesus was sitting opposite the temple treasury, watching the people put in their money.
Many rich people threw in large amounts. And then a poor widow came. She put in two very small copper coins.
Jesus called his disciples.
—Truly I tell you —he said—, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything she had to live on.
Jesus noticed the widow. No one else had looked at her closely, but Jesus did.
Jesus does not care how much you give, but how much love you give it with.
Let's talk: What can you give with love, even if it is something very small?
What is small, given with love, is great to God. Goodnight.
