Jesus Walks on the Water

After feeding a great crowd, Jesus told his disciples to get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side. He stayed behind to dismiss the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Evening came, and he was there alone.

The boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves, because the wind was against it.

Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. The disciples saw him and were terrified.

But Jesus immediately spoke to them:

Peter got down out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and began to sink.

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, and said to him:

They climbed into the boat and the wind died down. Those who were in the boat knelt down before Jesus and said:

Let's talk: Peter began to sink and asked for help. When can you ask Jesus for help?

When you are afraid, say like Peter: "Lord, save me." He takes you by the hand. Goodnight.
