Jesus Is Born in Bethlehem

In those days, the Emperor Augustus ordered a census. That is, everyone had to be written down on a list. Each person had to go to his own town.

Joseph was of the family of King David, and the city of David was Bethlehem. So Joseph left Nazareth, a town in Galilee, and went up to Bethlehem, in Judea. He went with Mary, his wife, who was expecting a child.

While they were there, the time came for Mary to give birth.

And Mary gave birth to her son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

That is how Jesus was born: in a very simple place, wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

The Son of God was born into a family that took care of him with love.

Let's talk: How do they take care of you at home when you go to sleep?

Jesus was a baby too, and his mom and dad took care of him. Goodnight.
