Jesus' Family Travels to Egypt
After the wise men left, Joseph had a dream. An angel of the Lord appeared to him.
—Get up —the angel said—. Take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, because Herod wants to harm the child.
Joseph got up in the night, took the child and his mother, and went to Egypt. There they stayed until Herod died.
After some time, the angel of the Lord appeared again in a dream to Joseph, in Egypt.
—Get up —he said—. Take the child and his mother and return to the land of Israel, for those who wanted to harm the child are dead.
Joseph got up, took the child and his mother and returned to the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus, Herod's son, was now ruling, he was afraid to go there. God warned him in a dream to go to Galilee, and he did so. They went to live in a town called Nazareth.
Joseph took care of Jesus and Mary. God spoke to him in dreams, and he always obeyed.
Let's talk: Joseph took care of his family. Who takes care of yours?
God took care of Jesus' family, and he takes care of yours. Goodnight.
