Daniel in the Lions' Den

Daniel was a man very faithful to God. King Darius thought highly of him, and planned to put him in charge of the whole kingdom.

Other officials did not like this, and they looked for something to accuse him of. But they found nothing. So they said:

And they convinced the king to sign an order: for thirty days, no one could pray to any god or any man, only to the king. Whoever did so would be thrown into the lions' den.

Daniel learned that the order had been signed. He went home, opened the windows that faced Jerusalem, knelt down as he always did, three times a day, and prayed and gave thanks to his God.

They saw him and went to accuse him. The king was very sad, and tried to save him until sunset. But the order was the order.

They threw Daniel into the lions' den and sealed the entrance with a stone. The king went to his palace. He spent the night without eating and could not sleep.

At dawn, the king got up and hurried to the den.

The king was overjoyed. They lifted Daniel out of the den, and he had not a scratch on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Let's talk: Daniel prayed every day. What time of day would you like to pray?

Daniel trusted God, and God took care of him. You can trust him too. Goodnight.
